Teen Art LAB

Hang out, make art and meet friends in the MOCA studios. Experiment with a variety of both traditional and unconventional art materials, techniques and ideas that empower YOU to create connections to contemporary art and culture. Artist and educator Lea Deglandon-Bennett introduces you to new techniques, contemporary artists and the MOCA galleries as a point of departure for this fun, interactive course. Use these inspirations as a jumping off point to create your own personal expressions or make a special request for something you would like to learn or explore. …the choice is up to YOU!

3D Animation

Instructor: Adam Parker
Get an introduction into the world of 3D animation as seen in movies such as Toy Story, Shrek and Avatar. Explore the principles of this new medium by using Blender – a cutting-edge 3D application. Create your own character animations and look at the history of animated movie productions for inspiration.

Mobile Glass Studio: Introduction to Glassblowing for Teens

Visiting artist: Ryan Gothrup
In this one-day crash course, teens will learn the basics of manipulating hot molten glass. The class will focus on blowing and shaping the glass into various forms. This is an opportunity to have a unique experience and depart with a new understanding of glass as well as making some cool objects to take home with you. All tools and materials will be provided. No experience required. All you need is sunglasses!
Members $70 – Register with a friend or family member and save 10% on both students tuition.
