MOCA's Contemporaries consists of the hottest group of art aficionados in Hampton Roads! We support the Museum’s Third Thursdays and Special Events. We are interested in contemporary art and youth culture.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Working in unison with Museum Staff, the Contemporaries primary purpose is to develop and engage a young diverse generation of contemporary art advocates by sponsoring educational activities and social events of demographic interest.
The Contemporaries are committed to:
- Building an active, sustainable organization of members.
- Providing culturally rich programming that explores diverse viewpoints and perspectives in a manner that nurtures the creative thought process and imagination and encourages personal growth.
- Advancing community awareness of contemporary art and the Museum by supporting its mission and programming.
