Robert Sites: Cut Out Drawing Master Class
MOCA invites you to join exhibiting artist Robert Sites for a Master Class based on his techniques, materials and artistic viewpoint. This unique and personal experience is a fabulous way for participants to have one-on-one interaction with a contemporary artist. Refreshments provided!
Mention a drawing workshop and you probably think its going to be about charcoal, pastel or pencil on paper, not about picking up a pair of scissors and cutting paper, or taping and pasting. But drawings can be built just like any three dimensional object and scissors can create a line just as surely as a pencil or pen does.
In this workshop we will explore cutting, taping and pasting paper as a modern method for constructing drawings. A variety of papers will be available for use, but particpants are encouraged to bring their own too, anything from fragments of leftover wrapping paper and notebook doodles to receipts and ticket stubs. The subject matter can be human, animal or anything that inspires you, just don’t expect a rectangular drawing when you’re finished
