Pre-K Art Days

Join MOCA for an hour long program which combines inquiry-based gallery tours, literacy, creative movement exercises and hands-on art making activities. Early experiences with the arts help young learners develop critical thinking, fine motor skills, communication, and social skills.

Each Pre-K Art Day covers a range of Virginia’s Foundation Blocks for Early Learning; as well Virginia Standards of Learning for Kindergarten. Help your Pre-K learner begin their school career with a strong foundation, register for MOCA’s Pre-K Art Days!

Upcoming programs:

April 12: “Line Up For Fun!”
Join us as we explore MOCA looking for many types of lines….and then create a line collage using markers, yarn, paper and more.

May 10: “The Shape Of Things To Come”
Shapes are everywhere and we are going to see how many different ones we can find around MOCA. After our shapes search you will create your own shape-inspired art piece.

June 14: “Silly Sculptures”
Join us as we learn about the art element ”form” by taking a closer look at some of the sculptures in and around MOCA. Afterwards create your own sculpture of paperclay to take home.
